Gil has has been playing the guitar for over 43 years. His influences range from Folk to Jazz to Progressive Rock. In his twenties, Gil started a music studio in Sidney British Columbia called Peninsula Music where he taught hundreds of students to play the guitar.
He eventually moved into a career in the high tech sector and has since moved into a consultative role. In 1999, he started Synaptic Studios as a way to share some guitar lessons on-line. It was always his intent for Synaptic Studios to provide a wide variety of guitar lessons, some basic theory instruction and articles designed to help guitar players hone their skills.
